Over the summer, Cherry Glazerr played a show at Baby’s All Right and I fell in love with them. The band looked young but I didn’t think anything of it until I spoke to lead, Clementine Creevy after the show, and learned they were still in high school! I was in awe and it made me love the band even more. Creevy is only seventeen, drummer Hannah Uribe, seventeen, and bassist Sean Redman is twenty-three. Creevy admitted, “We aren’t going to tour much this fall because we have school.”
True to their word, the LA-based band has embarked on a short tour since the summer . More good news from the band is that Suicide Squeeze is releasing their new seven-inch, Nurse Ratched. It includes songs “Had Ten Dollaz,” which Saint Laurent designer Hedi Slimane featured in the Fall/Winter 2015 show in Paris.
“Nurse Ratched” which singer Clementine Creevy told Noisey is inspired by the eponymous character from One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Next, “I guess the book really resonated with me; she’s such a dynamic character. I guess I wanted to exploit her character a little further, given the storyline and the fact that she’ very manipulative and makes her patients feel like children,” she says. “But you know, ultimately she is the insane one.”
The single is limited to 750 vinyl copies and can be purchased here. Catch them on tour!
