Check Out These Edwardian Street Style Snaps (Spoiler: Bustles Abound)

Street style blogs are everywhere (The Sartorialist, Street Peeper, and Stil in Berlin are some our  personal faves.) They may seem like a modern meme, but actually, street fashion photography has been around much longer—maybe even as long as photography itself. Mashable recently curated some photos by Edward Linley Sambourne, all taken during the Edwardian era in and around Kensington, London, featuring ladies in their amazing #ootd. Anything for fashion, right?

We think these gals all had some serious personal style (especially considering how the restrictions of the time gave them very little to work with). Big hats, high necklines, and nary a wanton ankle in sight: Can you say Eliza Doolittle? Scroll on to get a look:

Okay, okay—so this dates a little farther back than the Edwardian era (although some gals were still sporting the bustle well into the 20th century in some parts of the world. We couldn't help but include this adorable snap of ladies showing off their beautiful backsides.
