Yesterday, 9/4, marked the Earth’s 36th rotation around the Sun since we were blessed with the life of Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter. Still pretty fresh off maternity, Beysus shared with us, via her website, how her family and friends celebrated her B’Day.
Eighteen women and girls recreated one of the most iconic looks from the Lemonade era, the Black Southern Gothic, black-dress-long-jumbo-braid-big-hat-bigger-necklace look from the “Formation” video. Amongst the many family and friends were some obvious suspects, Ms. Tina Knowles-Lawson, Blue Ivy, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Angie Beyince, and Bianca Lawson. Not to be excluded from the bunch, were Jay-Z’s mom and grandmother, Ms. Gloria Carter and Ms. Hattie White. The only person not in formation was Solange. However, another Michelle was included: (still my) First Lady Michelle Obama! We all know the Obamas have been living their best lives since their official departure from the White House, but being included in the family and friends festivities of Beyonce’s birthday is a whole other level of lit.
We’ve only seen a couple of appearances of Bey post Rumi and Sir’s birth, but as we all know she is sneaky AF, not to mention how tight-lipped the good folk over at Parkwood are. She’s recorded whole videos in front of crowds and no one knew until the video came out. Aside from the confirmed project with Laverne Cox, we don’t know what Queen Bey has in store for us. We just know to #BeyReady.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEY!
