Who doesn’t love a good makeup or body product inspired by their favorite media, especially when the proceeds are for a good cause? Neil Gaiman, creator of the award-winning series (and soon-to-be TV show) American Gods, has teamed up with beloved fragrance masters Black Pheonix Alchemy Lab to create a collection of hand-blended perfume oils that represent the various mythical figures from the series. The scents, which are marked by an earthy, romantic palate, come in 5ml apothecary-style bottles complete with an illustration from Hugo award-winning artist Julie Dillon. With names like ‘Becoming Thunder,’ ‘The Blood Must Flow,’ and ‘Eostre of the Dawn,’ these gothic scents are sure to inspire.
Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab is known for their donations to organizations such as Planned Parenthood and the ACLU, and this latest collaboration is no exception: proceeds will benefit the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, an organization dedicated to protecting the first amendment rights in relationship to the comic genre via education, advocacy, and legal defense.
