It’s time to meet the bands playing at our party this Saturday to celebrate our new April/May issue! Pictured above is Derek Watson and Isabel Ibsen of Hunters, a Brooklyn based rock band who give an intense live performance, with lead singer Ibsen’s strong, throaty vocals coupled with an unrelenting, driving rhythm section. Their moody, rhythmic beats create the perfect sound to nod your head to and get your dance on. Isabel’s firecracker moves are sure enough to get your feet moving.
Slingshot Dakota sings from the heart with dancy, driven pop songs that are sweet and sad, anthemic and proud. This Brooklyn, NY, and Easton, PA, band have a powerful sound for a drum and keyboard duo, and it’s the amount of energy that pours out of Carly Comando and Tom Patterson during their performance that makes for the fullness of their sound.
Awkward Turtles is the proud child of Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls, and these four young rippers get better with every performance. Their punk rock sound is tempered by their mid-tempo beat, and the earnestness and sheer awesomeness of these young girls is rare sight to see.
And let’s not forget Light Asylum, who we covered earlier in the week. Come out to the Warsaw tomorrow, March 27th, at 8pm. Seven dollars covers admittance plus a free copy of our April/May issue. See you there!
