Like deluxe sundaes from the sky that we’ve all been waiting for, Cherrytree/Interscope has announced that Feist will be dropping her highly anticipated album, Metals, on October 4th. This twelve-piece album comes four years after her internationally acclaimed The Reminder, which sold over 1,000,000 copies worldwide and provided one of the best soundtracks to an Apple iPod Nano commercial. Feist co-produced the project with longtime collaborators Chilly Gonzales and Mocky, as well as Valgeir Sigurðsson, who has worked with Bjork, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, and CocoRosie.
As we approach October 4th, Feist will be releasing twelve mini videos that will slowly reveal the many intricate sounds and feels that were layered to create Metals. The videos will be unveiled over time on listentofeist.com. Currently, there are two visually stunning vignettes available; the third will be released on August 2nd.
