Whether I’m going to shows or eyeing collections from the comfort of the Internet, I still get giddy every time Fashion Week rolls around. From the street style and celebrities to the runway shows themselves, everything about the week is thrilling! This year I was lucky enough to see Christian Siriano’s collection for Fall 2012.
I had the full fashion experience. Right before the show started, I was washing my hands in the bathroom next to a woman in a lovely, bright fucshia dress (A Siriano, of course). She complimented my hat, which happened to be a leopard pillbox hat, and we both left at the same time. Suddenly she was mobbed by photographers and I realized….
..it was Mena Suvari, looking “fierce” as Christian would say!
Then I ran into Brad Goreski (stylist/former Rachel Zoe assistant). Is it weird that I told him I relate to all his fashion-career meltdowns on “It’s A Brad, Brad World”?
Looking dapper as usual!
Getting back to the clothes, I’ve seen a few Siriano collections in the past, along with his work on Project Runway, but this collection caught me by surprise. He’s known to favor dramatic, over-the-top dreamy fashion, but he held back this season just the perfect amount. The clothes were beautiful and made for the everyday elegant woman (aside from the sheer nipple-baring tops–I just can’t get behind those). Overall, it was a dark yet softly glamorous collection full of sophisticated details and hints of drama in unexpected places.
I especially liked this flowy wine-colored dress. I’m thinking Rooney Mara at the Oscars?
Tom and Lorenzo put together these collages of the amazing collection on their website. For their review, head over to tomandlorenzo.com.
