There must be something adorable in the air today, because we caught wind of a documentary that’s sure to melt our hearts: Too Cute! Baby Sloths premieres on Animal Planet on February 25 (it will air on March 4 in the UK, under the name Meet The Sloths). We hope sloth superfan Kristen Bell has her DVR set for this.
Lucy Cooke’s doc takes us to the Aviarios sloth sanctuary, first featured in a short video she made called “Meet The Sloths.” Cooke has also compiled a book of photos and stories about the sloths she met at the Costa Rican sloth haven, called A Little Book of Sloth, to be released by Simon & Schuster later this year. Here’s a sneak peek at the documentary:
[video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JTAtsHh-yc&feature=share 425×344]The world seems to be having a serious sloth moment, and Cooke hopes that the cute creatures can crawl their way into our consciences, too: some sloth species are endangered due to deforestation in their native habitats. Cooke encourages sloth-lovers to donate to Aviarios, whose mission is to rescue and rehabilitate sloths unable to return to the wild, here.
