The Family Research Council is at it again with their anti-LGBT focus. In their “get America back” campaign, three of the four fundraising points are anti-LGBT. The post-election pitch claiming, “truth will win out” (*sigh*), aims to
-Prevent radical homosexual activists from further harming the U.S. military.
-Compel the Department of Justice to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act.
-Challenge the provisions of ObamaCare which undermine families.
-Stop the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA).
Now, none of this is really surprising especially considering that it’s coming from the Family Research Council. It’s important to be aware of the current anti-LGBT movements so that something can be done about it. Here’s how I feel about each thing above:
-The American Family Council should be thankful that anybody is willing to serve in the military, regardless of their sexual orientation. GAH!
-Luckily, the recent elections led to gay marriage becoming legal in more states. YAY!
-I’m pretty sure one of the main reasons for their agenda against the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) is the absence of co-pay for birth control, which I luckily benefit from. (And for the last time, ObamaCare does not cover abortions.) Also, if you’re going to speak out against something, at least use good grammar.
-Do I even need to say anything about ENDA? If your coworker is gay, so the fuck what?
I don’t have much more to say other than I’m tired of stupid fundraising for stupid organizations that have stupid, nonsensical agendas.
