Have you ever played with a Ouija board? You know, the ones that connect you to the afterlife and always seem to come out at slumber parties? If so, you have something in common with the Nouvellas, since in their latest video for the song “Never Go Home,” the group partakes in what appears to be a seance–for themselves. The quirky, screwball comedic video shows the indie rockers at a very dangerous band practice in which each member meets their end. You’ll have to check it out below to get with the full alt-rock, creepy country vibes.
The Nouvellas are a group fronted by female vocal duo Jaime and Leah, who croon over the twangy and upbeat sounds of their band, made up of Andrew, Dennis, and Joseph. They’re as eclectic as they are fun, incorporating elements of country, soul, rock ‘n’ roll, and folk: they don’t discriminate. “Never Go Home” is off their upcoming album, and the group will celebrate its release this week at Union Pool in Brooklyn on Thursday, July 12. Along with celebrating their record, they’ll be celebrating singer Jaime’s pregnancy, so it may be your only chance for a while to catch ’em live.
