Rock noir duo Elysian Fields gears up for the release of their latest music video “Alms for Your Love,” directed by Kevin Weir. With Jennifer Charles on vocals and Oren Bloedow playing guitar, not much has changed for this band since ’95—in a good way! Their penchant for collage-like dream sequences has persevered along with their disturbed lullaby sound.
If you aren’t familiar with Elysian Fields, their sound is sensual, surreal, and a little bit spooky. I would recommend starting off with their latest album For House Cats and Sea Fans and then maybe check out some of their older stuff. “Jack in the Box” or “Red Riding Hood” are great videos and will give you a sense of how these art-kiddos have developed their sound over their 20 year ride.
Speaking of 20 years, Elysian Fields will be celebrating this benchmark with a series of NYC concerts. Each show will feature one of their albums played in its entirety—special guest surprises abound! On the real, Elysian Fields has become super popular in Europe over the past two decades and it’s time for the US to stop missing out on one of its chilliest home-grown bands!
