I really dig the down-to-earth sound of singer-songwriter Dana Falconberry. Her poetic lyrics and gentle, rich voice are perfect for a day inside, hiding from the cold and rain. (The bluesy song “Baby Blue Sky” is particularly neat, if you ask me.) Falconberry hails from Austin, TX, and according to her website, her latest EP was recorded in an old church there. She’s been touring a lot and winning the hearts of critics and listeners alike, and is definitely worth a listen.
Luckily, we at BUST have a special surprise for our lovely blog readers! Dana’s new song “Petoskey Stone” (the title refers to a pebble made from fossilized coral) just premiered on MTV, and we’ve got the video as an exclusive on our blog! The song itself is lovely–peppy, childlike, and intimate. The video combines that awesomeness with kaleidoscope-like images of nature. It’ll take you back to your days as a little kid, digging around in your backyard or neighborhood park for treasures.
If hearing the song makes you want more, New York BUSTies can hear Dana Falconberry live at 4 different venues, starting Jan. 21! See below for details:
