Hillary Clinton Gets Angry; NY Post Gets More Douchebaggy

by Tess Duncan

Yesterday Secretary of State Hillary Clinton got sassy with Senator Ron Johnson on Capitol Hill at the Benghazi hearing. (As if she didn’t have enough Republican bullshit to deal with already.) Johnson questioned the U.S. Consulate’s accounting of the September 11th, 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya. He insisted that the Obama administration deceived the public by calling the attack a “spontaneous protest.” Clinton attempted to respond, but was repeatedly interrupted by Johnson. She was eventually forced to raise her voice just a tad, in order to get this out: With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk last night who decided to kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator.”

Today the grand old New York Post has decided to portray Clinton as a harpy, with a cover photo of her mid-outburst, and a headline that reads, “No Wonder Bill’s Afraid!” There’s also the sub header: “Hillary explodes with rage at Benghazi hearing.” The photo of Bill looking shocked in the corner reads, “The lady has some temper! Secretary of State HIllary Rodham Clinton came out breathing fire yesterday at a congressional hearing where pols ripped her handling of the Benghazi debacle.” It’s hard for me to see how Clinton raising her voice just so that her voice could actually be heard really qualifies as “exploding with rage.” Even so, who cares if she gets heated when speaking on a subject that is extremely important to her? All of this sensationalist nonsense only brings one word to mind: Blergh.
