With great sadness here at BUST HQ, we say goodbye to one of Hollywood’s leading ladies. Elizabeth Taylor died early this morning at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California from congestive heart failure at the age of 79. An amazing ally of many works including Israeli causes and AIDS research, as well as a huge spokesperson to the LGBT community in the movement towards equality. The glamorous Elizabeth made huge contributions both on and off-screen.
Starting at the young age of 9, Elizabeth swept all of Hollywood with her talent, remaining in the public eye for her undeniable beauty, countless marriages and divorces, motherhood, weight gain and loss, illnesses, and her passion for activism. She will be remembered for her violet eyes, her roles in over fifty movies, including “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” and “Butterfield 8,” and the coexistence of her personal and professional worlds. We’re all so sad to see her go, as she is one of the last classic Hollywood legends. Rest in Peace, Elizabeth Taylor.
