The All-American Genderfu*ck Cabaret!

by Susan Engberg

Krystal Banzon directs this new play by Mariah MacCarthy at the East Village’s UNDER St. Marks Place, March 25 – April 3, 2010.

Social justice takes a hilarious stand! In this outrageous show a god-like, androgynous MC guides eight gender stereotypes (including Girly Girl, Manly Man, Nice Guy, a Gay Best Friend, a Slut, a Feminist Lesbian, and a Tomboy) on sexy and comical journeys from pop culture pigeonholes to Human Beings. Publicist Morgan Lindsey Tachco raves that the ensemble tears apart everything “from feminism to sexting; from acquaintance rape to infidelity; from homophobia and assault, to loneliness and the bass-ackwards ways we seek affection.” In the process “men, women, and none-of-the-aboves discover that in a polarized world of pink versus blue, everyone deserves Technicolor.”
