The succulent trend is certainly showing no signs of slowing down. It’s not only the plants themselves that are in the limelight, it’s the pots that hold them – and the macramé hangers (watch this space for a macramé taster workshop coming to the BUST London Craftacular). Then there are the cactus prints, tea towels, stationery, jewellery and much more. And the best of the spiky bunch can be found at the BUST London Craftacular on November 22. Here, for all you cactus fans, is a selection of spiky, succa-y handmade wares
Laser-cut cactus jewellery by Kate Rowland; Jungle Greenhouse necklace, £20; Cacti Collar Clips, £15.
This Way To The Circus makes mini plants in mini pots from polymer clay; £18 for a set of five.
And also does a great line in hand-painted pots; from £6 each. See them all here.
Brother and sister team and longstanding Craftacular vendor Scout Editions has these fold-out Cactus Cards (£5 each) in its new House Series. Each Cacti comes folded flat and with a brown kraft envelope and has a little signage space to scribble a message. The print also comes on a tray (£15) and a tea towel (£12).
Don’t get me started on these acrylic jewels by Finest Imaginary; pure cactus heaven! Cactus Earrings, £8; Prickly Pear Necklaclace, £20.
Finest Imaginary Diamond Terrarium Necklace, £30.
I’m quite in love with the Desert Prints by Jacqueline Colley. There are a couple of designs, with and without bugs and lizards, that come on notebooks (£4), tea towels (£14), cosmetic bags (£25) and a shopper (£45).
Jacqueline Colley Cacti cosmetics bag, £25.
Stall mates Glasshouse and Hackney Potter offer the best in terrariums and handmade ceramic pots. Glassghouse Teardrop glass terrarium, £45.
Oh No Rachio creates very cool – and uplifting – handmade porcelain planters like this one (£40), and also sells the succulents to go in them (from £5).
Oh No Rachio’s brilliant blog recently included a DIY how-to by fellow BUST Craftacular vendor Peas and Needles to make this amazing cactus pinata.
The talented Lucy of Peas and Needles also wrote a DIY tutorial for these fab fabric succulents over on The Debrief. And she will be teaching a weaving workshop at the BUST Craftacular on Nov 22, too. See all the workshops and book here!
