Scottish rockers The Jesus and Mary Chain have been jamming à la malcontent for 40 years with no intention of languishing, although the duo’s newest album, Glasgow Eyes, may have fans sniffing around for a swan song. (It’s never clear, and that’s part of the fun). With its signature slinky, scuzzy, propulsive rock that revels in the rebellious, J.A.M.C. hits musical corners both experimental and electronic while hazily howling at the altar of sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll. Glasgow Eyes brings no surprises, but it does pose the question of what to expect after the big four-o.
