Yesterday we brought you baubles from the MOMA, and today for your morning art injection, BUST brings you a preview of this weekend’s cinematic art. This Sunday, July 19, Cleopatra’s gallery based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, is showing five short films by the eccentric comedienne and actress Miss Joan Marie Moossy. Miss Moossy’s Modern Movies Matinee will feature short films such as ‘Miss Moossy’s Mythic Quest for the Fountain of Youth’ and ‘Miss Moossy Smells a Rat,’ a dramatization of a real-life event in Moossy’s Lower East Side apartment.
Cleopatra’s is a non-profit gallery run by four art lovin’ ladies who collaborate with artists to create distinctive projects a far cry from the commercial arts scene. Hurry up and see Harry, then save your Sundays for this indie movie marathon. The lights go dark at 5pm at Cake Shop (152 Ludlow St.) with a suggested $5 donation to the artist. ~Hannah
